5 Things we love about Cheshire

Food

We are not short of beautiful local produce (Cheshire new potatoes are the elite!) Many farm shops can be discovered around the county. Not to mention the amazing places to eat, and drink in the countryside views. The Pheasant Inn in Higher Burwardsley is our Director Lee’s favourite place. We are also very fortunate to have Knutsford Market Hall occupied by local vendors offering fruit, veg, meat, clothing and much, much more! Our wonderful countryside pubs have been adapting to change to ensure a warm and safe welcome to their visitors in April onwards, by working hard to renovate their inside and outside spaces. We’ve especially enjoyed following The Greyhound Inn in Warslow’s progress on Instagram!

Location, location, location

Cheshire is central and is a short drive to places such as the Lake District, or historical cities such as Chester, we have great access to the North and South. Here in Knutsford, we are sandwiched between two large cities with all the benefits that brings with employment and leisure. We are a short taxi journey away to Manchester airport (clutching passport, deep breathing, thinking of when we can finally get away somewhere hot… Hays Travel is on speed dial!)

Community spirit

The pandemic has definitely shown how committed our people and local businesses are to pulling together and helping those in need. Knutsford Town Council run many campaigns and projects such as Totally Locally Fiver Fest and Adopt a Knutsford Shop to keep our local economy healthy during these difficult times. During restrictions you also have your choice of food deliveries and take-outs, as our lovely local businesses adapted to change. Fundraising events as we know them have been unable to go ahead due to restrictions, Seddon Homes are determined to find a way to pledge donations to a cause very close to their heart. For every Seddon Home sold to September 2022, they will give £250 to The Christie, Cancer Foundation. Our advisor Mike also took time out of his schedule to help his local community by collecting and delivering food and essentials to the elderly and vulnerable.

Shopping

In each Cheshire town you will find many small businesses and boutiques offering handmade, sustainability sourced and eco-friendly products. In Knutsford in particular you’ll find businesses such as The Plastic Free Weigh, stocking everyday food, cleaning and household essentials (vegan friendly and with style! But don’t forget to bring your own refillable containers and bags, as they are ZERO waste!).  Kanoa Living with a range of ethically sourced beautiful homeware, gifts and luxury bespoke handmade items. Our Client Manger Anna’s favourite place to visit is The Hollies Farm Shop in Little Budworth, especially at Christmas time for the Festive barn.

Places to go, things to see

We are fortunate to have such amazing places to visit for days out, walks, and family adventures. Such as Arley Hall and GardensTatton ParkBeaston CastleCheshire Ice Cream FarmBlakemere Villege, and Chester Zoo, to mention only a few! There is something for everyone, all year around.

In summary, we celebrate Cheshire Day by continuing to be inspired and in awe of the commitment, enthusiasm and determination of our Cheshire business and residents.
